Why do we stand to sing?

Answer:

"Then some Levites ….STOOD UP and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with very loud voice." (2 Chron 20:19)

They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." Why do we lift our hands?

Why do we clap our hands?

Why do we dance?

Why do we sing in tongues and in English?

Answer:

"For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will SING WITH MY SPIRIT, but I will also SING WITH MY MIND." (1 Cor.14:14, 15)

Why do we sing praise and worship songs?

"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with PSALMS, HYMNS, and SPIRITUAL SONGS. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord. (Eph. 5:18,19)

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing PSALMS, HYMNS, and SPIRITUAL SONGS with gratitude in your hearts to God." (Col. 3:16)
